The Rachel Comey Production team is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Production Coordinator to join our studio. This role supports the end-to-end production process across domestic and overseas ready-to-wear collections, ensuring timely execution, quality standards, and seamless communication from development through final delivery. Working closely with Design, Product Development, Patternmaking, Sales, Warehouse, and external manufacturing partners, the Production Coordinator plays a key role in bringing each collection to life while maintaining operational excellence throughout the production lifecycle. This position reports directly to the Head of Production.
Key Responsibilities
Production Coordination
- Support the day-to-day execution of domestic and overseas ready-to-wear production across all stages of development and manufacturing.
- Assist in achieving departmental goals by maintaining accurate production timelines and ensuring timely delivery of all production milestones.
- Facilitate product costing for market appointments and update production costing throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain work-in-progress (WIP) reports, production calendars, trim trackers, and weekly production updates.
- Support domestic and overseas production of knitwear, footwear, and accessories.
- Coordinate style allocation to factories and assist with production pricing negotiations.
- Oversee the entry and maintenance of product information, bills of materials (BOMs), purchase orders, and production data within the PLM system.
Materials & Vendor Management
- Source, purchase, distribute, and track trims, notions, packaging, and production materials.
- Maintain organized fabric, trim, and material libraries, including seasonal inventories and stock programs.
- Assemble and manage cutting tickets, trim packages, and bills of materials for both domestic and overseas manufacturing partners.
- Support bulk fabric ordering, imports, invoicing, and seasonal material planning.
- Conduct vendor visits and assist with errands to local factories, cutting rooms, trim suppliers, and production partners throughout New York City.
Production Execution & Quality Control
- Track patternmaking, marking, cutting, sewing, and finishing schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate and prepare for fittings, document fit comments, and communicate updates to factories and vendors.
- Manage pre-production (PP) and top-of-production (TOP) sample approvals, ensuring quality standards and product specifications are met.
- Review finished production lots and assist in identifying and resolving quality issues prior to shipment.
- Coordinate finished goods shipments to the warehouse and maintain clear communication throughout the process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Process wholesale sample orders, duplicate samples, invoices, and budget-tracking documentation.
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Patternmaking, Sewing, Sales, and Warehouse teams throughout the production lifecycle.
- Communicate production updates, challenges, and discrepancies while helping develop practical solutions.
- Assist with onboarding and day-to-day management of interns supporting the Production team.
- Support seasonal production recaps and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
About You
- 2–3 years of experience in apparel production, preferably within ready-to-wear and domestic and/or overseas manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, quality standards, and production processes.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with digital tools, including Google Sheets, Excel, and PLM systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and external partners.
- Proactive, resourceful, and eager to contribute to a growing, team-oriented organization.

Compensation & Benefits
